Thistle Flower and Monarch Butterflies Sticker

This picture of a Monarch Butterfly sitting on the flower of a thistle was taken on a fishing trip in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.  It was a beautiful day on the South Platte River when this beautiful scene unfolded with these Monarch Butterflies stopping to smell the flowers.  

If you’ve spent any time in the Rocky Mountains in the summer months, chances are, you’ve seen both Monarch butterflies like this one and plenty of these brilliant purple thistles.
