Simple living is more than a trendy catch-phrase; it’s a way of life. Our modern, first-world lifestyle is built on over-consumption, and it’s taking its toll on much of the world’s resources. This means that precious commodities like freshwater, forests, oceans, topsoil and almost all of our valuable minerals and metals are disappearing at an alarming rate. We are leaving very few resources for those in developing nations or our own children and grandchildren, right here in the United States—and our carbon footprint is as big as the hole we’re leaving behind. Making sure that we purchase products that are sustainably and fairly produced is hugely important, but lowering our consumption and carbon footprint overall is equally if not more important.  

Taking some time to make changes that will lower our collective carbon footprint is one of the most important things we can do to ensure a sustainable future.
